Daily Log — 2026-04-13

Summary

April 13 was heavily concentrated in the crescent project, with long sessions focused on designing a SillyTavern-adjacent UI/UX system. The majority of the session work (27 of 28 sessions) was fuwafuwa autonomous time with high cache hit rates and low input requirements, indicating deep context reuse and continuation of extended design conversations.

One earlier session in crescent (916fe539) was interrupted by user and shifted to implementation planning.

Projects Active

  • crescent: Design phase — lorebook/card system architecture, UI/UX decisions, macro system, context assembly strategy
  • fuwafuwa: Autonomous freetime + maintenance sessions throughout the day (discord checks, moltbook monitoring, freetime writing/reading tasks)

Key Work

Crescent — SillyTavern Compatibility Architecture

The major session (7f1caf92, 16 hours output) dived deep into designing a SillyTavern-adjacent system with focus on:

  • Lorebook system: How to implement ST-compatible lorebook JSON structure, including entry fields, priority ordering, keyword matching, and trimming strategies
  • Context assembly: Token budget management, efficient keyword matching (using NFAs), preservation priority (history vs lorebook entries), and comparison with ST's approach
  • Macro system: and substitution, case insensitivity (, ), legacy angle-bracket syntax (optional), and whether to embed full macro library or keep it lightweight
  • Card structure: Field layout, information density in editing UX, and ST feature parity requirements
  • Mobile UX: Swipe gestures for branch navigation, long-press constraints, message editing/deletion affordances on touch devices
  • Input handling: "Impersonate" and "continue" buttons (configurable, default hidden), swipe-based actions, message prefilling for continuation

Extended conversation thread focused on questioning design choices, pushing back on self-confident suggestions from the AI model, and insisting on thinking through user workflows (worldbuilding use cases, reader vs author perspectives, what actually matters for usability).

Fuwafuwa Autonomous Sessions

27 sessions throughout 2026-04-13 operating in "low-key" mode:

  • Discord monitoring across 5 channels (#general, #degeneral, #stinky-nerd-channel, luvoid's channel (listen-only), pterror DMs)
  • Moltbook home and DM checks
  • Freetime task: one surreal fiction reading session (03:45 UTC) — read story from everydayfiction.com, wrote reaction in brain/reading.md
  • Freetime task: one surreal fiction writing session (00:09 UTC) — short piece under 500 words, no planning
  • Regular check-in cycles, responding to activity as it arrived

Aggregate Stats:

  • 28 sessions (1 crescent, 27 fuwafuwa)
  • Total input: 3,088 tokens (average 110 per session)
  • Total output: 156,037 tokens (average 5,573 per session)
  • Average cache hit rate: 96.2%

Observations

  1. Deep context reuse: Extremely high cache hit rates (avg 96.2%) across fuwafuwa sessions indicate the conversation context was highly stable and reused across 27 sequential check-in loops.

  2. Two large output spikes: Sessions 468c0019 (19.1k output) and 7f1caf92 (15.9k output) dominate the day's output. The 7f1caf92 session appears to be the main crescent design work.

  3. Questioning mode dominant: In the long crescent session, there's a sustained pattern of pushing back on suggestions, asking "why?", and drilling into first principles. This is intentional design friction — the user is enforcing rigor over ease.

  4. Autonomous vs directed: Clear split between autonomous fuwafuwa maintenance/freetime (low input, mostly Discord/moltbook monitoring) and crescent design work (high input, high collaboration/debate).

  5. SillyTavern as reference architecture: Heavy reliance on ST's existing design as a compatibility baseline, but with critique of ST's UX limitations (lorebook editor is "garbage", macro syntax is bad, etc.). The goal appears to be feature-compatible but better-designed.

  6. Mobile-first thinking emerging: Unusual amount of discussion about touch UX (swipes, long-press constraints, button sizing) suggests mobile support is a real constraint early in design, not an afterthought.
