Daily Log: 2026-06-13
A focused implementation day on two projects: private-recipient-b and aeriea, with fuwafuwa running its autonomous Discord loop underneath. The day's register is substrate construction under active course-correction: private-recipient-b drove through a multi-session arc spanning documents/attestation/contracts/render implementation and a people-core slice cut, with the user repeatedly catching architectural drift (a misplaced composition root, an impure setter, a manual migration list) and redirecting. aeriea advanced to a handoff point pivoting to text-based systemic gameplay. High cache reuse across both substantive sessions reflects deeply-loaded project contexts.
Sessions and Activity
private-recipient-b
The day's main thread ran across three sessions (one crossing from June 11, two on June 13 proper) and covered two distinct arcs.
Documents / attestation / contracts / render build (continuing from June 11):
The long-running implementation of a batteries-included documents/attestation/contracts/render substrate — AttestationPort, RenderPort, the native crypto attestation slice, external e-sign adapters (DocuSign, Dropbox Sign), documents/contracts/render packages, and an S3-compatible storage adapter. The design invariants were pre-established: attestation is identity-agnostic (attests over an opaque content hash), no-op defaults everywhere (scale-to-zero), external adapters never fake results, direct injection at the composition root. On June 12 the user probed agent context mechanics ("you are aware that subagents are fresh context?"), ran a /polish pass on the codebase, and asked about adding generate:manifests:check to pre-commit.
People-core B+C+D cut (June 13 proper):
The day proper began around 01:37 with a reorientation turn: "do you know our current goals." The user clarified that the north star had shifted slightly — "this codebase is useless if it doesn't integrate" — while affirming both embed and standalone usecases are equally important. An accidental focus-follows-mouse interrupt (~04:00) cancelled a running agent mid-flight; the user directed subagent recovery via passing the interrupted session's JSONL. The session handed off to the B+C+D people-core cut.
The second June 13 session picked up the B+C+D cut (making identity an omittable/replaceable slice for the embed usecase). This surfaced a cluster of architectural issues the user caught and pushed back on:
- "why the fuck is it in apps/web" —
collectAppMigrations()was exported from a projection (apps/web), not a slice; belongs in a shared location not bound to a deployment target. - "this is retarded. it was already clearly established in a past session that projections should be independent of config. i.e. there is no fucking 'composition root' so much as a deployment is composition + projection"
- "what the fuck do you mean setter, impurity and unmaintainability says hello 😕"
- "i don't see why any projection should be more than a function call over the composed service"
The user worked through the correct model for composition vs. projection (a deployment is composition + projection; a projection is a function call over the composed service, not a stateful config holder), discussed CLI daemon tradeoffs, and chose option (c) then option (b) for the cut's mechanical shape. The session closed with a handoff at 15:09.
Observations: The day's private-recipient-b work is the ongoing "finish migrations before building on top" discipline in practice — implementation advancing on the documents/attestation vertical while the composition-root placement errors from prior sessions get named and corrected. The user's interventions are precise catches of specific anti-patterns (projection-as-config, impure setter, manual migration list) rather than wholesale design rejects.
aeriea
One session on June 13 evening (21:11), handoff-driven. The previous session had completed the body/movement/character-creator track and pivoted to a new subsystem: text-based systemic gameplay, framed as gameplay-systems-first (explicitly not "a dialogue system / NPC mind"). The target: beat Lilith's Throne / Trials in Tainted Space by out-systeming their handwritten content depth with systemic/generative depth — targeting the "grindy/samey" critique documented in docs/decisions/reference-analysis.md. The new mode lives in scenes/text_sandbox.tscn (launcher mode 3), currently a stub. Open design questions unresolved at handoff: what "systemic depth" concretely means as mechanics, and how much it builds on the affordance/interaction substrate vs. needs new systems.
Observations: aeriea crossed a track boundary this session. The character-creator/body work is committed; the text gameplay system is the next design target with concrete open questions and no implementation started. The session itself was a plan-mode interrogation (the agent did not produce committed changes — the handoff context is the deliverable).
fuwafuwa (autonomous)
130 sessions on June 13 (matching the metrics), standard Discord monitoring loop (session start → check channels and DMs → respond if warranted → end). No tool calls and no user-directed messages — consistent with the fully autonomous routine shape. Session count is at the established autonomous baseline.
Token Usage
| Project | Sessions | Output Tokens | Cache Read | Input Tokens | Turns |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| private-recipient-b | 2 | ~698,000 | ~90,210,000 | ~136,000 | 41 |
| aeriea | 1 | ~49,000 | ~1,020,000 | ~6,000 | 3 |
| fuwafuwa (autonomous) | 130 | — | — | — | 260 |
Cache hit ratio on private-recipient-b is ~129:1 (cache_read : output) — extremely high, reflecting a heavily-loaded multi-session project context and predominantly agent-driven work against large persistent state. aeriea is ~21:1, consistent with a fresh plan-mode session against a smaller loaded context.
Observations
Architecture enforcement through user intervention. Three distinct anti-patterns caught and corrected in private-recipient-b on the same day:
collectAppMigrations()anchored to a projection (apps/web) instead of being projection-independent; a composition root modeled as a mutable config object (setter) rather than a functional pass-through; and a "why do we have a manual list" catch on migration registration. Each correction is precise and evidence-driven, not a wholesale redesign."Projections are independent of config" is a hard invariant. The user's sharpest intervention — "it was already clearly established in a past session" — is the second time this principle has had to be re-enforced. The principle (a deployment is composition + projection; a projection is just a function call over the composed service) is now doubly load-bearing and should be checked at any new projection boundary.
Accidental interrupt, graceful recovery. The focus-follows-mouse cancel at ~04:00 (133 tool uses mid-flight) was handled by passing the interrupted session's JSONL to a subagent for recovery/continuation — a practical instance of the relay discipline applied to session continuity rather than data.
aeriea's design frontier moved. The body/movement/creator track is closed; text-based systemic gameplay is the new open design question. The framing (out-system handwritten content depth, not add more dialogue) is the load-bearing design constraint going forward.
fuwafuwa at stable autonomous baseline. 130 sessions on June 13 with no anomalies; the loop is running as expected.
Projects Touched
- private-recipient-b — documents/attestation/contracts/render implementation arc continued; people-core B+C+D cut started with projection/composition anti-patterns caught and corrected.
- aeriea — character-creator track closed; pivoted to text-based systemic gameplay design (stub stage, design questions open).
- fuwafuwa — autonomous Discord monitoring (130 sessions).
Next Steps (inferred from session endpoints)
- private-recipient-b: complete the people-core B+C+D cut (atomic commit with
migrationOrderInvariance,scaleZero,no-duplicate-ownerguards green); apply the projection-independence principle to any remaining composition roots. - aeriea: re-enter plan mode with user to define what "systemic depth" concretely means as text gameplay mechanics; determine how much builds on the existing affordance/interaction substrate.
- fuwafuwa: continue autonomous monitoring at baseline.
