Daily Log: 2026-07-25

A multi-project day spanning documentation work (rescribe, crescent), research (motif), and design (private projects). Significant exploratory and cleanup commits across several codebases.

Sessions and Activity

rescribe

Sessions 6a9d70b4, b5d72518 — Document format gap analysis and cleanup.

  • Evaluated design philosophy against rescribe-gaps.md (README audit).
  • Cleaned up dirty files; verified working state.

crescent

Session 06612a76 — Markdown library assessment and cleanup.

  • Evaluated lib/markdown/ completeness (CommonMark compliance, missing features).
  • Found format.lua was dead code (incomplete alternate parser, unresolvable deps, infinite loops).
  • Deleted format.lua (~150 lines); updated docs/inventory.md and TODO.md.
  • Verified lib/markdown/init.lua is working (86 unit tests, intentionally non-CommonMark for practical use).
  • Commit cff72f67.

motif

Session f4426468 — Formal mathematics landscape survey (Langlands, HoTT, category theory).

  • Surveyed Lean formalization ecosystem: lean-pool (140 projects, ~944k LOC), TauCeti roadmap, Mathlib work on ∞-categories, real analysis, algebraic geometry, CFSG, Langlands.
  • Identified active projects (kbuzzard/ClassFieldTheory, sinhp/HoTTLean, LANA for IUT, probability/statistics gaps).
  • Documented landscape; discussed write-up for FORMALIZATION_PRIORITIES.md.

A private game-design project

Session 372ee4fa — Game design notes and puzzle-mode exploration.

  • Added design notes on puzzle mode / puzzle system (open idea).
  • Explored Zachtronics-style puzzle variants (area constraints, time-to-goal, piece constraints).
  • Committed as 2aa4818.

Token Usage

ProjectSessionsOutput Tokens
rescribe2~2,000+
crescent1~3,500+
motif1~5,000+
private project1~2,000+

Total: ~12,500 output tokens across 5 sessions.

Observations

  1. Documentation and cleanup day. Rescribe and crescent focused on auditing their own docs/tooling rather than feature work.
  2. Formalization landscape well-mapped. Motif's Lean ecosystem survey produced a concrete view of maturity gaps and active projects (Langlands work especially live).
  3. Game design exploration steady. Private project continued iterative design on puzzle mode mechanics.

Projects Touched

  • rescribe — documentation, design validation.
  • crescent — markdown library cleanup, dead-code removal.
  • motif — Lean formalization landscape survey.
  • private project — game design notes.
