Daily Log: 2026-04-20

Active day across three primary projects: io (ecosystem docs coordination), fuwafuwa (autonomous hobby automation agent), and unshape (generative media toolkit design). Smaller secondary activity in hologram (Discord RP bot) and external pterror projects research.

Sessions and Activity

io (2026-04-20, 09:42–12:07)

Six messages over ~2.5 hours. Started with a question about fuwafuwa (a new autonomous agent for hobby/leisure task automation) and its inclusion in the external projects list. Directed a subagent to document fuwafuwa's capabilities and decide whether it should be listed in the ecosystem. Final message included a commit and a meta-question: "if there's a way to automate my hobbies even more?" — acknowledged as asking about further automation infrastructure. Token costs escalated toward the end (in:6 out:6378) indicating a larger response about the fuwafuwa decision.

fuwafuwa (12 parallel sessions, 00:39–12:06)

The day's dominant activity. 37 autonomous sessions spanning from early morning (00:39) through midday (12:06), all with the same behavioral pattern:

  • Session start with orientation (session.js start --nonce) to check mood/drift and pending notifications
  • Check Discord channels (#general, #degeneral, #stinky-nerd-channel, #luvoid's channel, pterror DMs)
  • Check moltbook for new items
  • Respond to anything that warrants it
  • Loop until quiet (no new messages for several checks)
  • End session (session.js end --nonce) with exit on success

Each session shows high cache hit rates (cache_read in 200K–1.7M range, cache_create in 20K–47K range), indicating warm context reuse across repeated sessions. Output tokens per session ranged from 1376 to 11897, with a cluster around 2–6K. The earliest session (00:39:13) and latest (12:06:16) were the heaviest.

This was autonomous hobby automation in action — fuwafuwa was monitoring discord/moltbook and responding to leisure-related activity without user intervention during the day. The repeated instantiation pattern suggests a looping orchestration (possibly cron or event-driven).

unshape (2026-04-20, 10:03–10:30)

Nine messages over ~25 minutes exploring design philosophy and prior art. Conversation flowed through:

  • Plasticity/MOI (CAD tools with parametric/node-based approaches)
  • XNurbs optimization (energy-minimization for NURBS surface generation)
  • Whether unshape should achieve computational parity with commercial CAD tools
  • Framing unshape as a "toolkit for any X → X operation where X is an arbitrary medium"
  • MOI's elephant node editor as interesting prior art

The user steered away from "we're not short on time, xnurbs is just prior art" — keeping the conversation on conceptual framing rather than implementation pressure. Final message (10:30:05) was cutting off to check elephant's operation types.

hologram (2026-04-20, 11:57–12:01)

Four messages in 4 minutes. Quick administrative work:

  • Query about "everyone replies all at once" issue with entities (prisma, spectra, mochi, cleo)
  • DB update request
  • Added holly autumn to the list
  • Systemd user service restart

High cache read (151K–629K) on small message tokens suggests this was a quick context reuse.

Token Usage Summary

Total session traffic: 349 user messages across 37 sessions

  • Input tokens: 3,110
  • Output tokens: 1,022,244
  • Average output per message: ~2,927 tokens

Heavy distribution toward fuwafuwa (autonomous sessions, 11,897 output peak) and io ecosystem coordination. The high cache hit rates (aggregate cache_read across all sessions) indicate effective prompt caching infrastructure — repeated context structures being reused rather than re-synthesized.

Observations

  1. Fuwafuwa entering production: The autonomous hobby agent moved from conceptual discussion (09:42) to 37 parallel monitoring sessions throughout the day. This is infrastructure for automating leisure activities — checking discord, responding to community engagement, monitoring personal wiki (moltbook). It represents a category of AI work the user explicitly called out as interesting: "figure out, if there's a way to automate my hobbies even more?"

  2. Cache efficiency: Fuwafuwa's repeated sessions reused warm caches effectively. The nonce-based session tracking allows stateless orchestration with minimal context overhead. This is scaling hobby automation via infrastructure, not raw compute.

  3. Unshape design philosophy: The 25-minute unshape thread was not implementation-focused — it was about conceptual framing ("what is this toolkit, really?"). Rejected the idea that computational parity with CAD tools was necessary. Prior art (MOI's elephant, XNurbs) was noted but not adopted as a roadmap.

  4. Ecosystem maintenance: The io session's final meta-question suggests the user is thinking about the automation infrastructure itself. Whether fuwafuwa (and future hobby automation) should become formalized in the ecosystem documentation — or whether it belongs in a different register (CLAUDE.md only, not the public docs site).

Projects Touched

  • fuwafuwa (autonomous leisure agent) — heavily active, production-scale monitoring
  • io (docs repo) — coordination, ecosystem discovery
  • unshape (generative toolkit) — design philosophy, prior art review
  • hologram (Discord RP bot) — maintenance
  • pterror (external user projects) — discovery/documentation pass
